Without a doubt a folding bike is one of the most versatile forms of transport ever invented! Not only can they be used to move quickly and comfortably around town, but they can also fold down so small that they can be taken on trains and buses etc for longer journeys. As well as commuting and shopping they are also useful for leisure trips; a folder can fit in the back of the car and be taken out into the countryside, or it can be kept in a caravan or canal boat. Security is also not a problem, as it doesn't have to be left outside all the time like a normal bike.
At Bigfoot we stock folders by the British company Brompton. They only make folding bikes, and as such have put a vast amount of resources into producing what we think for most uses is the best folding bike on the market.
Try before you buy...
Don't just read about Bromptons, try one out! A small wheeled folding bike does ride differently to a conventional bike...it's just a case of getting used to it. The best way to know if a Brompton suits your needs is to ride it, and that is why we have a fleet of hire Bromptons, and the hire price is refunded if a purchase is made. Rather than just riding round the block, we let you take the bike where you intend to be using it, such as on a commute. Custom Options
Bromptons are UK made bikes and there are a range of colours, handlebar types and gearing options. Therefore as well as keeping a range of the most popular models in stock we also get a lot of people put in a custom order which takes 2-6 weeks depending on how busy the factory is.
