| Car Carriers |
If you want to transport your bike by car there are three main options as covered below. The best option depends on how many bikes you have to carry and how often it will be used...
Rear Mounted Carriers
Although they are sometimes suitable for taking the bikes down to the park we prefer not to sell this type of rack. Basically we have found that the types that claim to fit all types of car aren't all that stable and the bikes can rub against each other and sometimes the pedals hit the back of the car. There are some exceptions supplied by Thule which are designed to fit a small number of cars - ask in store for more details on these.

Roof Mounted Carriers
We stock Thule roof bar systems that enable you to carry bikes and roof boxes, and can even be used for other sports such as carrying skis and canoes.
Once a roof bar system is fitted up to 4 cycle carriers can be used, and the bikes are held securely and away from each other and the car. For long journeys and expensive bikes this is a good option, but bear in mind petrol consumption is increased and for people carriers etc with high roofs getting the bikes up there may be difficult.
Suitable for: 4 bikes
Please contact us for the option that best suits your needs, and we offer free fitting of all Thule products.
Towbar Mounted Carriers
Towbar mounted racks are the best all round option. They hold the bikes securely without them rubbing against each other or the car, petrol consumption isn't significantly increased, and you don't need to lift the bikes above your head.
These racks obviously require a towbar, and we can arrange for a towbar to be fitted to your vehicle at your house, so there is no extra effort involved.
Suitable for: 3-4 bikes.
Prices vary depend on the vehicle and how many bikes you wish to carry, so please contact us for more information.
