Our trained mechanics Mark and Bill are ready to give your bike some TLC! From a minor adjustment to a full strip down and rebuild our fully equipped workshop can handle it. We are happy to work on any make of bike and can supply spares for just about any make of parts.
How To Book
Most customers prefer just to drop their bikes off without booking and we'll fit it into our workshop schedule. Turnaround time depends on time of year and how busy we are, but the average is 2-3 days and rarely no longer than a week. Usually dropping off one weekend and picking up the next works well.
If you need a repair done in a hurry call us on 020 8462 5004 or email us and we can reserve a slot for you. A courtesy bike can sometimes be arranged if we need the bike for longer than a day and you can't be without it.
Remember to clean your bike before bringing it in unless you are having a standard or deluxe service and you'll keep the mechanics happy!
Pricing
We have a menu of servicing levels and fixed price repairs which can be viewed on our workshop prices page or Brompton servicing page.
Any other repairs are charged depending on the time taken, and we are always happy to give a no obligation estimate. For example if you only want a 10 minute tune up that's all we'll charge.
Wheel Building & Servicing
Custom building wheels is one of our specialties and we can handle any requests. We keep a good stock of various hubs, rims and use primarily DT spokes although we can get in any wheel parts to order. Labour is generally £25 and spokes £15-30 per wheel.
Wheels can be trued on site. The labour charge depends on how long the repair takes, so if you bring in just the wheel with the tyre and tube removed it will cost you less.
We keep a wide range of ball bearings and cartridge bearings in stock, and have specialist cartridge removal tools so we can service your hubs quickly and treat them with care.
The Bigfoot Difference
We take pride in our workshop and only buy the very best tools and workstands to use on customers bikes, which minimises the risk of damaging any parts. Our workstands cost £400 each, we have ultrasonic cleaners to clean small parts, and nearly all tools are supplied by Park or Pedro's unless we can find something even better.
Over the years we have invested in a range of specialty tools which allows us to do the most complicated repair (short of welding!) and we have a vast collection of old tools to work on old or obscure bikes and thier related parts.
Greases and lubricants are supplied by Pedro's and Finish Line - they may cost twice the price of generic alternatives but they work better. All brake and gear inner cables are stainless steel, and outers are fully lined. They cost us three times the price of standard alternatives and look the same, but we always supply the best as they will make the bike perform better for years down the line.
